Every journey starts at the edge of what you know.
Depths are collection themes, not equipment depth ratings.
THE GEAR
SAMPLE COLLECTION · USD
An early look at Floastra. Products and prices are examples; orders are not being taken.
KNOW THE WATER
The ocean is not trying to catch you out. It is just consistent.
01 / EQUALISATION
Your ears will tell you first.
Pressure rises fastest in the first ten metres — that is where most ears complain. Equalise early, gently and often, before you feel anything. If an ear will not clear, rise a metre and try again. Forcing it is how people injure the one part of the body that ends the season.
02 / PRESSURE
Ten metres doubles everything.
At the surface you carry one atmosphere. At 10 m, two. At 30 m, four. A given volume of gas is halved by 10 m and quartered by 30 — which is why your lungs compress, your wetsuit thins, and you stop floating somewhere on the way down.
03 / WETSUIT SCIENCE
Neoprene is mostly trapped gas.
The warmth comes from nitrogen bubbles in the foam, not the rubber. Depth squeezes them, so the same suit is thinner and colder at 20 m than at the surface. Fit beats thickness: water flushing through a loose suit takes heat with it every time you move.
04 / MASK FOG
Fog is two problems wearing one coat.
A new lens carries a film from the factory mould, and any lens cooler than your breath collects condensation. Deal with both: scrub a new mask out properly once, then use a surfactant before every dive. Spit is free and works.
05 / LIGHT AND COLOUR
Everything down there is blue on purpose.
Water absorbs the long wavelengths first. Red is essentially gone by five metres, orange by ten, yellow by twenty. Nothing has lost its colour — the light carrying that colour has run out. Bring your own and the reef turns back on.
06 / STAYING ALIVE
One up, one down. Every time.
Hypoxic blackout arrives without a warning you can feel, most often in the last few metres of the ascent and in the seconds after surfacing. That is why a trained buddy watches you all the way up and for thirty seconds after your face clears — and why nobody hyperventilates before a dive.
General information, not instruction. Freediving and scuba are trained skills; learn them in the water with a certified instructor before you need them.
WE GO TOGETHER
The brand is the excuse. The people are the point.
DIVE DAY
An open meet at a known site. Bring what you have, borrow the rest, dive within your training.
WORKSHOP
Breath, equalisation, safety and rescue, run with instructors who actually hold the certification.
OCEAN CLEANUP
The unglamorous half of loving a place. Gloves, bags, a boat, and a count at the end.
MEETUP
Dry, social, usually loud. Photographs, arguments about fin stiffness, plans for next month.
EXPLORATION
A site none of us has dived, scouted properly first, done in daylight with people who know it.
ACTIVATION
Product in the water where it belongs, in front of the people who will tell us what is wrong with it.
Floastra hosts and organises. Boats, accommodation and transport stay with the licensed operators we partner with — we are a brand and a community, not a travel company.
FIND YOUR PEOPLE
NOBODY DIVES ALONE.
Log your dives. Share your depths. Find people who also think the dark part is the interesting part.

Unknown EncounterYou will know
Planned for the community build: dive profiles, dive logs, stories, ocean photography, buddy finding, events and the depth progression above. None of it exists yet — this is the shape it will take.
THE FLOASTRA FEELING
NOT A DIVE SHOP. AN OCEAN EXPLORATION BRAND.
Floastra begins with a simple idea: there is wonder beneath the familiar. In the quiet water. In the after-dive conversations. In the things we have not found yet.
So the work is wider than a product line. Apparel, wetsuits, equipment and accessories — and alongside them the films, the workshops, the cleanups, the meetups and eventually the expeditions. Gear is how you get in. It was never the reason.
Our anglerfish carries a light into the unknown. Friendly eyes. Unmistakable teeth. A whole universe waiting inside.
THE LONG SWIM
Where this is going, in the order it can honestly be built.
STAGE 01 · NOW
Apparel, accessories, community
Things we can make well and get into people’s hands, and the group of people worth making them for.
STAGE 02
Wetsuits, equipment, collaborations
The technical range, once the brand has earned the right to be trusted with the gear that keeps someone warm at depth.
STAGE 03
Workshops, certification support, brand events
Teaching, hosting, and helping people get properly qualified — with the instructors and agencies who already do it well.
STAGE 04
Floastra Expeditions
International exploration, retreats, ocean discovery programmes. Run with licensed operators, on water none of us has seen yet.
A direction, not a prospectus. Stages two to four are not on sale and not scheduled.
